Target keywords are important for your website optimization process. When properly provided, target keywords will enable the SEO Doctor app know whether a particular product page is well optimized or not and provide better recommendations for your meta titles and meta descriptions.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up target keywords for your product optimizations.
Before we continue, read this useful blogpost on how to research keywords for your Shopify store.
1-- From the top left side of the SEO Doctor dashboard, click to select Website Optimization.
2-- On the Website Optimization page, you should see three tabs showing for Products, Category and Special Page. Select a tab based on what keywords you intend to optimize. All tabs have similar optimization steps.
For this guide, we’ll optimize keywords for product pages.
3-- On the Products tab, you will see a list of your product pages like below. Look for the column with Target Keyword as header.
If your product pages are not showing, hold on a bit and reload, they will show.
4-- For each product page you want to optimize a keyword for, click the edit button to change the default keyword. Default keywords are picked from a product’s title.
5-- Provide a new keyword based on a keyword research you did and click Save.
