One of the most annoying things that can happen to a visitor is to hit a 404 error on your website. In this short guide, you’ll learn how to redirect all broken links so as not to annoy your site visitors.
1-- Click to select Broken Links from the SEO Doctor dashboard
2-- On the Broken Links page, you should see a list of all the pages with 404 error issues that the app has tracked automatically for you. There are two more ways you can import broken links to be worked on which you can access by clicking on Import 404 at the top.
Via Google Import - This allows you to connect, sync and automatically create redirects for 404 errors being reported by Google in Google Webmaster Console. Here’s a guide to carrying out Google Import.
Via CSV Import - This allows you to do a bulk csv import of all your 404 errors and redirect them with a single click.
3-- For each broken link in the list, click the edit button to provide a redirect path. In the edit popover, set the redirect path for where you want the broken link to be directed to. Click Fix broken link to save.
4-- Repeat step 3 until you have redirected all broken links. If you don’t have the luxury of time to work on all the hundreds of broken links, you can activate the Bulk Fix feature.
