Large size images are often the main cause for slow loading websites. You can improve the loading speed of your site by reducing the size of large images.
In this brief guide, you’ll be shown how to use the SEO Doctor app to reduce the size of large product images.
1-- Click to select Image Compression from the middle item of the left column in the SEO Doctor dashboard.
2-- On the Image Compression page, you should see a list of your product images with buttons indicating whether to compress or not. Take note of the following:
An image with Perfect Size button has the recommended image size and does not require further compression.
An image with Compress button indicates one that has the potential to slow down your site thus needs compression.
For each product image decide on whether to compress it by clicking Compress or not.
If you don’t see your product images, hold on a bit and reload, they will show.
3-- Once an image has been compressed, its size can be reverted to the original size by clicking on Revert To original. The original image is backed up for 5 days on our server, for if you ever want to revert back. After 5 days the compressed image will become the original image.
4-- Repeat step 3 until you have compressed all large images. If you don’t have the luxury of time to work on all your hundreds of images, you can activate the Bulk Fix feature.
